Smoke & Mirrors

A notice from Simon.

Myself (Simon), Leon and Dan are doing a few shows in Brighton, Worthing and Eastbourne. Its basically a continuation from the Smoke and Mirrors events that Leon, Dan and Marcus did last year.

It's actually turning out to be rather popular. We've got 450 odd people on the Facebook group, with more joining every day.

We've also got some professional magicians (ie. have done their own TV shows / DVDs etc) wanting to come along and perform. So far we've got Richard Bellars http://www.penguinmagic.com/specialorderproduct.php?ID=8254, and Paul Zenon says he'll be at the Brighton gig if he's not in Edinburgh. Got some others in the pipeline as well.

We've got 3 gigs, one in Eastbourne on the 12th of August at The Crown and Anchor on Marine Parade, one in Brighton at the Hope on Queens Road on the 19th,  and the last one is in Worthing at Occasions Nightclub on the 26th.
Tickets are £5 or £4 for concessions

Web-site address is www.smokemirrors.co.uk all the details are on there.

We need some help. We're obviously wanting to make it as impressive as possible. Unfortunately none of us are really stage magicians, and don't have much in the way of stage stuff. Most of the stage stuff we have is mentalism, so we're trying to come up with other tricks that will work for a 50+ person audience that aren't mentalism.

So can we ask that if any of the members think that they've got props, or routines that they'll be happy to loan us for the gigs (and some practice time beforehand) then we'll love them forever and maybe buy them a drink or something.

If you can help please contact Simon at simonctresadern@googlemail.com

An evening of Song & Magic
Hawth Crawley on Friday 3rd July.

You will of course know of Wayne Dobson who was very famous in the 80's and 90's - unfortunately he contracted Multiple Sclerosis. However it is hard to keep a good man down and nowadays he occasionally gives a show to raise funds for MS and Brambles Respite Care Centre.

This is a brilliant opportunity of seeing Wayne and despite the MS he still gives an incredible performance. Would you mind sending this onto your members?  Not only will they see an incredible magician they will also be helping people who are affected by Multiple Sclerosis.

More info here

Thank you very much
